Frequently asked questions

Why are no events showing?

Check the device's location permission for Planit and the network connection. Planit currently covers Copenhagen events.

How is an event saved?

Tap the heart on an event card. Saved events appear in the Saved tab.

How do saved-event reminders work?

In Settings > Notifications, turn on 1 day before, 1 hour before, or both. Both off means no saved-event reminders. These reminders are scheduled on the device. Tapping one opens the saved event, if it is still published. On Android 12 and newer, Alarms & reminders access may be needed for precise timing; without it Android can delay reminders. The Precise reminders row appears below the timings when a reminder is on and opens that setting.

How do Copenhagen announcements work?

After the introduction is completed or skipped, Planit asks once for notification permission, after the location permission dialog closes. Allowing notifications enables Copenhagen announcements and registers this installation without an account. Denying permission leaves announcements off. Existing announcement choices are preserved. Announcements have a separate switch in Settings > Notifications; turning them on there also requests permission when needed. The app needs a network connection and a configured push service. Disabling announcements does not disable saved-event reminders. A notification may be delayed or never arrive even if the server reports that the push service accepted it.

If permission was denied during first launch, turn on announcements in Settings > Notifications and allow notifications for Planit in device settings. An explicit announcement choice resumes when the app returns to the foreground. A pending restoration proof still needs to be opened or requested again through its separate control.

An offline opt-out takes effect in the app immediately, but the server may still send until the pending update succeeds. Settings shows separate retry controls when saving the local choice or updating the server fails. Notifications already passed to the device's push service can still arrive. Reopen the app online and use the shown retry control if the pending state remains.

If the private installation credential is lost after reinstall or device storage changes, Planit may ask the registered phone to confirm ownership with a temporary notification when permission was already granted. Restored announcements remain off until explicitly enabled. If the old phone cannot receive that proof, the old registration cannot be claimed merely by knowing its push address. The setting reports when restoration or server opt-out is still pending.

How is a test phone paired?

An administrator generates a one-use code in the notification center. Enter it under Test phone pairing in the app within ten minutes. Pairing needs notification permission and a push address, but it does not turn on general announcements. The administrator selects a paired phone for each test. A test's provider result still does not confirm arrival.

What happens when an announcement is tapped?

A general announcement opens discovery. A linked announcement opens the event over discovery. If the event was removed or unpublished, the app offers a return to discovery. A temporary network problem offers a retry. Taps are reported to the server when possible; recorded-open counts can therefore miss offline taps.

How can an incorrect event be reported?

Email sanderbushkrogh@gmail.com with the event name and the correction.
